Polka Galerie will exhibit three works from my latest series Slightly Elsewhere at Paris Photo 2025, held at the Grand Palais in Paris.

The series reflects on how those of us from mainland Japan perceive Okinawa — a place where the presence of U.S. military bases and the memory of war have quietly become part of the everyday landscape. Through the materiality of washi and the process of printing by hand, I attempt to question what it means to “see” and what it means to truly “perceive.”

On Friday, November 14 at 3 PM, I will also hold a book signing for Vanishing Existence — a limited-edition, handcrafted book made with washi paper and published in 100 copies.

This presentation will serve as a prelude to my upcoming solo exhibition at Polka Galerie in January 2026, where a broader selection of prints from the series will be shown.
